We are experienced in strain gage analysis from small components to large structures, in the field and in the laboratory.  EMTEC has the capability to monitor single and multiple channels of strain gages using analog devices and data acquisition equipment for computerized data storage and analysis.  In addition to collecting high quality strain gage, load cell, temperature, and dynamic data, the EMTEC technical staff can provide engineering interpretations of data and results, and convey them competently and fully in a manner understandable by technical and lay audiences.

Tank Corrosion

Corrosion Evaluations

The Rocky Mountain EMTEC, Inc. engineers are frequently asked to determine the cause of corrosion to components and structures.  Analyses are performed in the field and in the laboratory to identify corrosion mechanisms and the environments and chemicals that cause corrosion.  EMTEC also frequently recommends ways to avoid corrosion in the future, ranging from material selection to modification of material properties and environments to protect against corrosion .
 


Fracture Mechanics & Fatigue Analyses

Fracture mechanics is a predictive science of understanding crack initiation and growth behavior.  Based on mathematical models and material characteristics, the EMTEC engineers use Fracture Mechanics to analyze failures and make recommendations to avoid them.  Similarly, the EMTEC engineers have the capability to analyze fatigue conditions, and make proper recommendations to avoid detrimental failures by progressive cracking under cyclic loading conditions.
